Sun Path Privacy Policy

Sun Path displays sunrise, sunset, twilight, solar altitude, a 3D solar path, weather, and road-trip information for your location. Core astronomical calculations run on your device. Weather, maps, roads, and nearby-place features require network requests to third-party services.
Data we process
- Precise location is used for local solar calculations and to request weather, maps, roads, and nearby places. We do not create user accounts or use location for advertising or tracking. Because a third-party weather provider may retain troubleshooting logs containing raw coordinates, the App Store privacy label conservatively reports precise location as linked under Apple's definition.
- Weather requests may send coordinates and time zone to Open-Meteo to obtain temperature, cloud cover, precipitation, and UV forecasts.
- Map and nearby-place requests may send coordinates, map bounds, or search terms to Apple mapping services and OpenStreetMap/Overpass.
- Compass and motion sensors are used on-device to align your phone with the Sun's direction. Raw sensor readings are not uploaded to our servers.
- Local settings and snapshots support the main app, widgets, Live Activities, and Apple Watch synchronization.
Sharing and tracking
We do not sell personal data, use third-party advertising SDKs, or track you across apps or websites. Network requests are made only to provide requested app functionality. Third-party providers process requests under their own privacy policies.
Retention
We do not operate an account database and do not retain precise location on our own servers. On-device settings and snapshots remain until you reset them, delete the app, or the operating system removes them. Apple may clear Live Activity, widget, and Watch caches according to system lifecycle rules. Third-party request logs are retained according to each provider's policy.
Deletion and withdrawing permission
Deleting the app removes data in its local sandbox. You may change or revoke location, motion, notification, Live Activity, and background permissions at any time in system Settings. Features requiring a revoked permission may stop working. There is no account to delete.
Security and children
We use Apple sandboxing, system permissions, and HTTPS connections to reduce risk. Sun Path is not designed to collect personal information from children and contains no social, chat, or user-generated content features.
Changes
If our data use or providers materially change, we will update this page and its date and provide additional notice when required.
